Ten Holiday Wishes Meme

This goes around every year. I copied it from wikdsushi, although I know roadnotes was asking about it. As much as anything, I'm posting this so more people will do the same thing, and I can see if I can fulfill anyone's wishes.

Step One

* Make a post to your journal with a list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, big or small, expensive or free, fandom-related or not. The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

* If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

* Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two

* Surf around your friends list to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use—or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free—do it.

* You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf—to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not — it's your call.

* There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

So, here goes with my wishes:

1. A job. One that leaves my weekends free.

2. A Newbury Comics David Bowie pint glass. The kid broke the one I had, and I can't find it on eBay. Naturally, it was my favorite.

3. A crimping iron. Because sometimes I just want to be REALLY old school.

4. A sugar bowl, preferably with a cut-out so the sugar spoon can live in it, ideally in some sort of blue and white china pattern. Because the kid takes sugar in coffee, and eternaleponine takes sugar in tea.

5. A Stray Cats t-shirt or 1" band button, because they were my very first concert in early 1984 and I regret giving away the sleeveless tour shirt I bought at the time. It doesn't have to be authentic vintage, just SOMETHING.

6. A gentleman's pinstriped suit, jacket size probably 40 or 41, waist 34 or 36, inseam 32. Because eternaleponine will never ask for it herself, and doesn't believe me when I tell her she looks like Ianto Jones.

7. Over-the-ear type headphones. Because my computer desk is right next to the TV and sometimes earbuds don't cut it.

8. A disappearing/reappearing TARDIS mug, because I really am that much of a nerd.

9. a 64GB iPod Touch, although this is sort of like asking for a pony.

10. Only HAPPY news for my friends for the coming year. There's been enough sadness and worry and loss in 2010 to last a long while, and I want 2011 to be better.

I use the same name at gmail as I do here, in case you've got some happy news to share with me.
