so this is what a functioning immune system looks like

Yesterday, I started out feeling fine, but somewhere around the middle of the afternoon, I started not feeling so good. I didn't know if it was the yogurt and cereal I had for breakfast, or the collards-and-feta-with-poached-egg I had for lunch, or the minestrone from the night before, but SOMETHING wasn't agreeing with me. I also felt sleepy and was admonished to take a nap. So I did. For about three hours.

Then I got up, discovered that people had already eaten leftovers for dinner, so I didn't have to cook, and decided I didn't much feel like dinner myself. I had some toast, and some lemon tea. Watched Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune and The Dog Whisperer, and decided about ten minutes into Supernatural that I felt too yucky to focus on it, because now it wasn't just my stomach, it was something making me feel feverish and congested, and took myself to bed.

Even with fleece pants, a cashmere sweater, socks, and a hoodie, I was shivering. Joy. I took a Sudafed and a couple of Advil and dozed off.

An hour later, I woke up drenched in sweat. I changed from the sweater into a t-shirt, went downstairs to get some more gingersnaps, and went back to bed.

I let myself sleep in until about 10 AM, although I was awake before then. Got up, had breakfast, took a shower.

I feel fine.

So I guess whatever I was coming down with, I shook off?
